In the 21st century, however, ballroom dance is present in many parts of the world and has practitioners in virtually all segments of society. It is performed in various contexts, including invitational and public dance events, professional dance exhibitions, and formal competitions.

HBDT also aims to promote the love of dancing to the Harvard community by regularly providing practices, lessons, social dances, and other special events. Harvard Ballroom Dance Team annually travels to Montreal and New York to compete, and we host our very own competition in the fall: Harvard Beginners.

Stanford DanceSport is a place where everyone can learn to dance in a fun, relaxed, and welcoming environment. Stanford DanceSport is a group of Stanford students and affiliates dedicated to the art of competitive ballroom dancing, also known as dancesport.
